Job summary

Isabel Hospice is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Shop Manager to support our busy charity shop in Hatfield, primarily on Saturdays. You will work with the Shop Manager and volunteers to drive store income, maintain high customer service, and create appealing displays while supporting community events.

The role involves training volunteers, promoting gift aid, and upholding our charity values. This is a part-time Saturday position with a friendly team and a commitment to exceptional standards.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
• Interest in or experience with sustainable fashion.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Shows understanding, respect and consideration for others at all times.
• Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach to work.
• Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive attitude.
• Collaborative team player.
• Proficiency in email, MS Office, and internet use.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shop Manager to maximise store income and profits by delivering exceptional retail standards.
• Maintain and promote the highest standard of customer care.
• Create eye-catching displays and maintain cleanliness throughout the shop.
• Support the Shop Manager to engage and train volunteers to assist in the running of the shop.
• Meet gift aid conversion rates from people donating goods.
• Support events held both in the shop (evenings) and the local community.
