Office Angels in Manchester is seeking a Finance Officer to cover 3 days per week with a hybrid working pattern (2 days in the office, 1 day at home). The role supports day-to-day financial operations and reports to the COO, working with an external finance provider.

The package includes a £30,000 actual salary for 3 days, 30 days holiday, and a stand-alone role in a charity context, offering meaningful impact and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading the finance administration or bookkeeping for a charity or grant-funded setting.
• Proficient in Excel and financial software.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with external finance providers and internal colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, expenses, and payments with precision and timeliness.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
• Support payroll administration in collaboration with the external finance provider.
• Assist in the monthly reconciliation of income and expenditure against the budget.
• Help maintain the quarterly and annual financial milestone tracker linked to programme KPIs.
• Prepare data for monthly management accounts and Board financial reporting.
• Support the preparation of financial reports for funders, including National Lottery and Local Authority partners.
• Track Local Authority income against the funding schedule across all partner areas.
• Identify and flag variances, delays, or discrepancies for further action.
• Ensure financial processes comply with the organisation's Financial Regulations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day queries with the external finance provider.
• Assist in the annual audit process by providing necessary information and records.
• Maintain financial records in line with Data Protection and Cyber Security policies.
