Job summary

Linear Recruitment, on behalf of a large main contractor, seeks an experienced Chargehand Foreman for a major construction scheme in Central Leeds. This hands-on, site-based role involves running day-to-day site activities and acting as a key contact for the project team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record as Chargehand/Foreman, CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS, and the ability to supervise trades, coordinate logistics, and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chargehand/Foreman on major construction projects.
• Strong ability to supervise trades and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of construction health & safety requirements.
• Experience opening and closing sites would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the site.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the site each day.
• Taking responsibility for site security and ensuring the site is ready for the working day.
• Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.
• Ensuring works are carried out safely and in line with the programme.
• Monitoring daily progress and reporting back to the Site Management team.
• Coordinating deliveries, materials and site logistics.

Linear Recruitment are currently working with a large main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Chargehand Foreman on a freelance basis for a major construction scheme in Central Leeds.

This is a hands-on site-based role, with the successful candidate taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site and acting as a key point of contact for the wider project team.

The Role

• Opening and closing the site each day.
• Taking responsibility for site security and ensuring the site is ready for the working day.
• Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.

• Previous experience of opening and closing sites would be advantageous.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to work independently and take responsibility for the site when required.
• Relevant CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS.
• A reliable and professional approach.
