Job summary

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Freelance General Foreman for a major water infrastructure project near Leeds. The multi-million scheme includes deep drainage, earthworks, concrete works, pumping stations, pipework and associated groundworks for Yorkshire Water's AMP8 framework.

Initial mobilisation is for a 12+ month duration with potential extension across West and South Yorkshire. The role requires proven site supervision experience in heavy civils, CSCS and SSSTS, plus a full UK driving

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Supervisor or General Foreman in heavy civil engineering.
• Experience directing direct labour on site.
• Experience with toolbox talks, briefings, H&S checks, plant checks, etc.
• Industry-related qualification (HNC/HND or Degree) beneficial.

• Assist Site Agent in project delivery to target.
• Daily briefings with workforce.
• Deliver HSE toolbox talks.
• H&S audits and briefings on site.
• Direct multiple gangs in daily site activity.
• Briefing and amending RAMS.
• Plant checks & permits.

Job description

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Freelance General Foreman on behalf of a reputable civil engineering contractor to work on an upcoming water infrastructure project near Leeds. The initial multi-million £ scheme will encompass a wide heavy civils package - including deep drainage, earthworks, re-enforced concrete works, pumping stations, pipework, road construction and groundworks. A key project for Yorkshire Water as part of their AMP8 framework. Duration: General Foreman needed for at least 12 months. Further work across West & South Yorkshire so potential for ongoing extension.

Duties:

• Assist Site Agent in project delivery to target
• Daily briefings with workforce
• Deliver HSE toolbox talks
• H&S audits and briefings on site
• Direct multiple gangs in daily site activity
• Briefing and amending RAMS
• Plant checks & permits
• Involvement with progress meetings

Experience required:

• Must have proven experience as Site Supervisor or General Foreman in heavy civil engineering
• Must be fully confident with putting direct labour to work
• Must have experience with: toolbox talks, briefings, H&S checks, plant checks etc.
• Industry related qualification is beneficial (HNC/HND or Degree)
• Must hold: CSCS card, SSSTS and full UK driving license

Pay:

• A rate of up to £330 per day (doe).
• Can be paid CIS.
