Job summary

Carbon60 seeks an experienced Electrical Chargehand for a long-term project in west London. You will supervise a team of electricians and operatives, actively participating in installation, testing, and commissioning activities on a major secure-site project.

Security clearance is required for site access. This hands-on supervisory role offers a three-year duration with opportunities to shape on-site delivery and safety culture.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• ECS or JIB Gold Card.
• Experience as Electrical Chargehand / Lead Electrician / Supervisor.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership and health & safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electricians, electrical improvers, and apprentices.
• Allocate work activities and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, testing, inspection and fault-finding.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and schematics.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure works meet standards.
• Ensure compliance with Wiring Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
• Monitor site productivity and assist in resolving technical issues.
• Coordinate labour, materials and plant on site.
• Deliver toolbox talks and promote a strong health and safety culture.
• Liaise with Site Management and provide progress updates.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Mentor and assist junior electricians and apprentices.

THE

ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Chargehand to join a long-term project at in west London. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of electricians and electrical operatives while actively participating in electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities. ESSENTIAL

REQUIREMENTS:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• ECS or JIB Gold Card.
• Previous experience working as an Electrical Chargehand, Lead Electrician, Electrical Supervisor, or Senior Electrician.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation and testing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.

DESIRABLE

SKILLS:

• Inspection & Testing Qualification (2391 or equivalent).
• IPAF Certification.
• PASMA Certification.
• SSSTS or other supervisory qualification.
• Previous experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or secure-site projects.
• Experience managing teams and coordinating site resources.
• Knowledge of commissioning and handover processes.
