Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust in Poole is seeking a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and lead a designated team, supporting the Same Day Emergency Care Clinic and DVT clinic as required.

You will oversee training, performance appraisals, and development, while addressing complaints and incidents. The role includes late shifts until 22:00 and some weekend work, with flexibility to service needs.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse with relevant experience.
• Post registration experience desirable.
• Basic IT skills and computer literacy.
• Knowledge of the conditions relevant to the speciality.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Same Day Emergency Care Clinic on a shift-by-shift basis to maintain patient flow.
• Manage a designated team, ensuring training, appraisal and development needs are met.
• Escalate issues to the Band 7 team and clinical site out of hours as required.
• Deliver planned care in line with NMC standards and trust policies.
• Support and guide junior staff/learners within the clinical environment.
