Job description

We are looking to recruit a Charge Midwife / Community Team Leader to join the Maternity & Neonates Team at University Hospital Wishaw!

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Charge Midwife in delivering high-quality, evidence-based, woman- and baby-centered care.

The post holder will be involved in providing individualized patient care and planning, as well as implementing and evaluating clinical care within all areas of the maternity service. This includes ensuring compliance with NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC.

The Charge Midwife / Community Team Leader will provide safe, effective, person-centered care.

Contract details

Band 7 / 2x Permanent Posts / Part-time / 34.5 hours & 21 hours

What you'll need to bring
  • Registered Midwife with valid NMC registration
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Postgraduate expertise in your specialty/area of practice
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within your specialty
  • Specialist knowledge of relevant conditions, policies, and procedures
  • Management qualification or equivalent through experience and CPD
  • Excellent team leadership, motivation, and communication skills
  • Basic IT skills

  • Training and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work at a strategic level
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving license
