Purpose of Job
- My client is undertaking a strategic EMEA Compliance Transformation Programme aimed at evolving its compliance functions into proactive, commercially-focused partners that drive strategic decision-making and effective risk management. This transformation leverages advanced technology and data analytics to deliver real-time insights and ensure continuous alignment with evolving regulatory expectations.
- The Change Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and embedding change across the EMEA region, ensuring that transformation initiatives are adopted effectively and sustainably. This role will be instrumental in shaping and applying evolving Change Management methodology, working closely with compliance, technology, and business stakeholders to drive behavioural change, build change capability, and ensure successful delivery of programme outcomes. The Change Manager will ensure that change is well-governed, people-centric, and aligned with strategic vision for compliance excellence.
- Ensures that any change has appropriate governance, transparency, and oversight. Must make sure that the rationale, progress, controls, and decision-making are robustly documented and evidenced to withstand review by internal and external regulatory authorities.
Background
- CMG provides the enterprise professional project, programme and portfolio management (P3M) resource and expertise to the organisation. It was established in Nov 2019 as an independent, centralised business function operating at a strategic level to provide enterprise wide oversight and management of projects.
- CMG is also a resource centre/ centre of excellence. It is comprised of professionally qualified project, programme and change managers, business analysts and junior analysts. These are divided into multi-disciplinary teams with reporting line to a Team Lead.
- The EMEA Compliance Transformation programme is a multi-million-pound EMEA wide programme across 19 countries and over 3 entities and several branches.
- The Change Manager sits within the PMO, to enable greater benefits realisation through a structured and consistent approach to change management.
- The Change Manager is responsible for setting the standard on change management approach and executing within project delivery teams, while overseeing the holistic change impact for the EMEA Compliance Transformation Programme.
- The project is expected to run for 18 – 24 months.
- Operates across multiple EMEA countries, these may have differing standards and so require innovative implementation solutions which adds to the complexity of the project.
- Interfaces with C-level project sponsors and manages SteerCo/s compromised of multiple GMs. Must meet and brief C-level Sponsor on a regular basis and educate on the complexities of the change, the regulation and help influence decision making.
- May work more than one complex change project at a time bringing added pressure due to competing regulatory deadlines and organisation priorities.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Establishing and embedding change management standards across all workstreams, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Defining and developing benefit realisation frameworks, including identifying measurable outcomes, setting baselines, and working with benefit owners to ensure accountability and alignment with business objectives.
- Designing and implementing metrics to track adoption, behavioural change, and the realisation of strategic benefits, using both qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making.
- Driving stakeholder engagement and adoption, including the creation of tailored communication and training strategies that support behavioural change across diverse EMEA jurisdictions.
- Building and leading a change network, including change champions and super users, to support localised engagement and feedback loops.
- Advising and coaching senior leaders and sponsors, including C-suite executives, on their role in leading change, and presenting progress, risks, and recommendations at Steering Committees and executive forums.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Technology, HR, and Programme Management, to ensure change activities are integrated into delivery plans and aligned with the overall transformation roadmap.
- This role requires a strategic thinker with strong execution capability, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence at the highest levels of the organisation.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Education & Qualifications
- Industry recognised modern project management qualification such as PMP or APM essential
- Change Management and Programme Management qualifications such as APMG or MSP essential
- Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience and expertise of Business Change Management, preferably gained within Compliance in the financial sector.
- Experience orchestrating change impact assessments, business readiness activities, benefit realisation, stakeholder engagement, training and communication plan
- Demonstrable experience related to change management on large scale projects or programmes where a change management approach has been designed, implemented, and monitored throughout the lifecycle of the change in place
- Experience in training strategy, planning, design, creation and delivery, and knowledge of training methodologies, techniques and approaches for business learning.
- Change management experience related to technology-enabled change
- Experience of applying recognised Change Management practices within large programmes
- Solid understanding of how people respond to and successfully adapt to change
