Job summary

Bury Council is seeking a Communications & Campaigns Manager on a 9-month contract to own the engagement, communications and stakeholder management within a major finance transformation programme.

The role embeds within the programme, driving the communications workstream, engaging senior stakeholders and ensuring momentum ahead of go-live in April 2027. Hybrid working with regular on-site presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading communications and engagement for major organisational change or transformation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all communications and engagement activity for a large-scale finance transformation programme.
• Develop and own the programme communications strategy, plans and forward schedules.
• Create engaging staff communications, campaigns, briefings, toolkits, presentations and leadership materials.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, programme teams and operational leaders.
• Ensure communications align with programme milestones and business readiness activities.
• Translate complex technical and finance-related information into clear, engaging and accessible communications.
