Job summary

Shaw Trust is seeking a dedicated practitioner to manage a caseload of participants in community settings and at Creating Future Opportunities (CFO) Activity Hubs. You will support engagement, breaking down barriers to resettlement and helping participants achieve milestones while developing enhanced skillsets.

Qualifications

• ICT proficiency including all major Microsoft applications.
• Experience supporting prisoners and prison leavers with complex needs.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour and achieve targets while maintaining boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with motivational abilities.

Job description

Managing a caseload of participants in the community and CFO (Creating Future Opportunities) Activity Hubs, supporting them to engage and break down barriers to successful resettlement, achieve agreed milestones and develop enhanced skillsets. Facilitating delivery at pop up Satellite Hubs across the region.

Essential

• ICT proficiency including all major Microsoft applications Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent experience
• A commitment to the rehabilitation of prisoners with experience of supporting prisoners and prison leavers with complex needs, helping them overcome barriers and progress towards education, training, and employment.
• Skilled in managing challenging behaviour, building effective partnerships, and achieving performance targets while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills including active listening and motivational skills to support those from a range of backgrounds. Proactive and solution focussed taking the initiative to create opportunities

In addition to DBS and reference checks, the successful candidate must pass HMPPS vetting as a mandatory requirement of the role.
