Job summary

PhysicsX is seeking a CFD Engineer (Delivery) based in London to build CAE models integrated with AI-driven tools. You will work directly with customers on-site, developing high-fidelity simulations and contributing to automation and DoE studies.

You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to push innovations at the intersection of CAE and data science, advancing simulation pipelines while exploring growth into IC or Team Lead roles.

Qualifications

• Growing foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and multiphase modelling; applying core engineering principles to real-world problems under guidance.
• Working knowledge of Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or Fluent; comfortable using automation features to support scalable workflows.
• Exposure to parametric CAD modelling (NX or CATIA) and coding in Python/Java or ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to define and solve engineering challenges.
• Deliver high-fidelity simulations from geometry clean-up, meshing, to post-processing for simple to moderately complex cases with senior guidance.
• Contribute to simulation pipeline automation for design optimisation and DoE studies; support customer-facing work and present results clearly.
• Help generate simulation datasets for training ML models and learn how data sampling affects model accuracy and cost.
• Use Flux cloud platform and HPC resources to run simulations, applying smarter meshing and setup choices to improve performance.
• Learn engineering best practices and adapt CFD models for Deep Learning surrogate development.
• Travel occasionally (Europe, Asia, Oceania) to support customer engagements; potential growth to IC or TL with increasing independence.
