Job summary

Cubiq Recruitment is helping a well-funded AI scale-up in London recruit a Simulation Engineer with strong multiphase CFD and DEM experience. You will build high-fidelity models, automate workflows, and generate data for ML surrogates.

The role involves end-to-end simulations, on-site customer engagement, and travel. A degree in ME/chemical/process engineering is required, with expertise in Star-CCM+/OpenFOAM/Fluent and Python scripting.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in multiphase CFD.
• DEM experience with related tools and coupled CFD–DEM.
• Proficiency in Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM or Fluent.
• Python scripting and simulation automation.
• A degree in mechanical, chemical or process engineering (MEng, MSc or PhD).

Responsibilities

• Build complex multiphysics models end to end from geometry to validation.
• Develop DEM models of particle systems including fluidised beds and milling.
• Automate simulation and parametric CAD workflows for optimisation and DoE studies.
• Generate simulation datasets to train ML surrogate models.
• Work with customers on-site and present results and recommendations.

We're working with a well-funded AI scale-up that helps industrial companies solve complex engineering problems. They're looking for a Simulation Engineer with strong multiphase and CFD-DEM experience to build high-fidelity models that feed directly into machine learning tools.

The role

• Build complex multiphysics models end to end, from geometry and meshing to validation
• Develop DEM models of particle systems, such as fluidised beds, conveying and milling
• Automate simulation and parametric CAD workflows for optimisation and DoE studies
• Generate simulation datasets to train ML surrogate models
• Work closely with customers, including on-site, and present results and recommendations

You'll bring

• Deep expertise in multiphase CFD
• DEM experience (EDEM, Rocky, LIGGGHTS or similar), including coupled CFD–DEM
• Proficiency in Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM or Fluent
• Python scripting and simulation automation
• A degree in mechanical, chemical or process engineering (MEng, MSc or PhD)

Nice to have: reacting flows, NX or CATIA, surrogate modelling, HPC

The role includes regular international travel to customer sites.
