Unit Bio:
The NICU/CCN at The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital is a 51-bed Level III-IV unit, the largest ICU in Maine, featuring single rooms with state-of-the-art equipment. The unit collaborates closely with multiple disciplines including surgical, cardiac, GI, genetics, renal, and palliative care. It is staffed with Neonatologists and APPs 24/7, supported by a nursing team of 150, an active critical care transport team, and a nurse-driven PICC team. The NICU has 31 beds, and the Continuing Care Nursery has 20 beds.
Summary:
Under supervision of Registered Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with hygiene and activities of daily living. Duties may vary by area, considering the specific needs of patient populations.
The CNA II role supports nursing care for designated patients under RN supervision, performing direct and indirect care duties.
