Sign-on Bonus Information

For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • 0-1 years of experience: $2,500 (full time)
  • 1+ years of experience: $4,000 (full time)

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part-time CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth employee members are ineligible; former MaineHealth members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.
Unit Bio

More than 3,000 babies are born each year at Maine Medical Center. The Prenatal Center cares for high-risk antepartum and postpartum women in a 12-bed unit. We accept high-risk pregnancy transfers from Maine and New Hampshire. Our department supports and collaborates closely with the Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby teams. Maine Medical Center offers a clinical nurse advancement pathway, fostering RN growth, research, and leadership development. We expect nurses to seek specialty certification within two years of hire.

Role Overview

The Certified Nursing Assistant II assists in administering nursing care to designated patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing direct and indirect care duties.

Position Summary

Under RN supervision and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Duties may vary by area. Consideration of patient-specific needs and behaviors is required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Current applicable state license as a CNA required.
  • Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • CNA experience 0-6 months; on-the-job training provided.
