Unit Bio:
Bean 5/IMC/AVU is a high-paced 34-bed medical intermediate care unit. The patient population includes acute on chronic states, respiratory failure, complex vascular, general surgical, and neuroscience conditions, sepsis, and multisystem organ failure. Constant assessment, coordination, and interventions are essential. Within the Assisted Ventilation Unit (AVU), patients may require mechanical ventilation, vasoactive medications, and frequent assessments and interventions.
Summary:
Under the supervision of Registered Professional Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with hygiene and activities of daily living. Duties may vary by area. Consideration of the specific needs and behaviors of patient populations is required.
The Certified Nursing Assistant II assists in administering nursing care to designated patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing direct and indirect care duties.
