Position: Full-time, Night Shift

Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week

Weekends: Required

Location: in the new Maline Family Tower!

Sign-on Bonus: For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Clinical Nursing Assistants (CNA):

  • $2,500 for 0-1 years of experience (full-time)
  • $4,000 for 1+ years of experience (full-time)

Eligible candidates are hired into a full or part-time CNA position. Bonus amount is prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth employee members are ineligible; former members are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation from employment.

Unit Bio:

The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides care for patients who have undergone critical surgical procedures including Vascular, Gastrointestinal, Liver, Renal, Renal Pancreas Transplantation, Orthopedics, Plastics, Otolaryngology, Urology, Thoracic, Surgical Oncology, Oral Maxillo-Facial, Obstetrics, and Gynecological Surgery.

Summary of Role:

Under supervision of Registered Nurses and according to policies and procedures, performs service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with hygiene and activities of daily living. Duties may vary by area. Consideration of the needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

The CNA II role supports nursing care for designated patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing direct and indirect care duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Current applicable state license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date
  • Experience: 0-6 months CNA experience; on-the-job training provided
