About EGG
EGG (Engage, Grow, Go) is a small, community-rooted homelessness charity based in Stockport, offering practical, person-centred support to individuals moving out of homelessness. With a clear ethos around employment as a route to stability and a strong track record of partnership with local employers, EGG helps people rebuild their lives sustainably and permanently. The charity currently includes three Trustees, a core staff team of three (in addition to the CEO), and an annual income of approximately £250,000. The organisation is at a pivotal moment. Following the departure of the previous CEO and a period of internal scrutiny, EGG is seeking a new leader to guide the charity through a phase of stabilisation, governance strengthening, and strategic development.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, working closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure the charity's sustainability, compliance, and growth. This role requires a leader who can foster a positive organisational culture, support the small and dynamic staff team, implement robust internal procedures and policies, and drive forward EGG's mission to support individuals experiencing homelessness.

• Implement robust performance management systems, including regular 1-2-1 staff supervisions and annual appraisals. Ensure all staff have annual performance plans and up-to-date job descriptions.
• Foster a positive organisational culture that prioritises staff wellbeing, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
• Lead on recruitment, induction and retention of staff and volunteers, ensuring fair and inclusive processes.
• Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
• Implement strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission requirements.
• Secure adequate funds to sustain and build the charity’s income, identifying and pursuing funding opportunities to diversity income streams.
Safeguarding and Risk Management
• Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding for clients, staff, and volunteers.
• Ensure all safeguarding policies are up-to-date, understood, and implemented across the organisation.
• Maintain a comprehensive risk register and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Proven experience in a senior role within the charity or public sector.

• Demonstrable commitment to safeguarding and experience in implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively and respectfully with people from all walks of life.
• Experience working within the homelessness sector or with vulnerable populations.
• Knowledge of employment pathways as a means to address homelessness.
