Job summary

National Skills Agency Ltd is seeking a Centre Manager for the Ipswich-based Study Programme & SEND, overseeing delivery, safeguarding, and learner support. You will lead staff, ensure high teaching standards and meet contractual and quality requirements.

The role involves monitoring KPIs, coordinating funding contracts, and driving continuous improvement in SEND provision, with close collaboration with the Head of Education and SMT.

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching, education or management qualification and/or relevant experience.
• Minimum Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
• Experience in education, training, leadership and/or SEND provision.
• Good knowledge of SEND, safeguarding, Prevent, Health & Safety and equality requirements.
• Strong communication, organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyse data and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with staff, learners and external stakeholders.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop Study Programme staff, ensuring performance and targets are achieved.
• Promote high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Support recruitment, staff absence, performance management and disciplinary processes.
• Identify and support staff CPD and professional development.
• Oversee the effective day-to-day operation of the centre, including administration, Health & Safety and safeguarding.
• Support the Head of Education with funding contracts and compliance requirements.
• Monitor KPIs including recruitment, attendance, retention, achievement, work experience and destinations.
• Approve financial transactions in line with company procedures.
• Support applications for Element 3 SEND funding.
• Maintain and develop an inclusive, high-quality curriculum that meets learner needs, including SEND.
• Monitor teaching, learning, assessment and learner support through observations and quality assurance.
• Contribute to the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
• Ensure training materials and delivery meet Ofsted, awarding body and organisational requirements.
• Monitor improvement actions and address areas of underperformance.
• Analyse learner, staff and centre data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Produce accurate reports on attendance, retention, progress, achievement, destinations and financial KPIs.
• Use data to drive improvement and ensure reporting requirements are met.
• Ensure effective learner admissions and accurate completion of documentation.
• Ensure learners receive appropriate Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG/IAG).
• Promote positive learner destinations and equal access to opportunities.
• Represent our client at meetings and networking events and contribute to SMT meetings.
• Build effective relationships with partners, employers and other stakeholders.
