Hydraquip Ltd in the UK is seeking a skilled machinist to operate manual centre lathes and milling machines to manufacture and repair hydraulic components, ensuring tight tolerances.

You will set up machinery, prepare materials, inspect finished components, and maintain a clean, safe workshop while meeting customer deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual centre lathes and milling machines.
• General machine shop experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual centre lathes and milling machines to manufacture and repair hydraulic components.
• Set up machinery and prepare materials for machining operations.
• Produce high-quality components to customer specifications and samples.
• Work accurately to tight tolerances while maintaining attention to detail.
• Cut and prepare raw materials using workshop equipment.
• Inspect finished components to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and general workshop duties.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Work efficiently to meet customer deadlines while upholding Hydraquip's high standards of service and workmanship.

What we’re looking for
