Job summary

Maldon District Council, in partnership with Essex Shared Services, is seeking an ICT professional for its Centralised Services. The role is full-time with hybrid working and a requirement to attend the office one day per week.

You will monitor, maintain and improve the performance and resilience of ICT systems, support project transitions to BAU, and work with IT teams and suppliers to deliver reliable services while maintaining documentation and security standards.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or equivalent experience with ongoing CPD in ICT.
• Hands-on ICT service delivery experience in medium/large organisations.
• Experience with Azure cloud platforms, ITSM, change control and incident investigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical support across ICT services, contributing to incident resolution.
• Monitor performance, availability and health of ICT systems and services.
• Support the transition of IT projects into BAU with proper handover and documentation.
• Collaborate with IT support and project teams to ensure systems are secure and stable.
• Maintain technical records, system documentation and monitoring information.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience and monitoring.
• Support compliance with ICT policies and governance, engaging with suppliers as needed.
