Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Cemetery Driver Operative to join the Greenspaces Team. You will support the interment process, drive and operate vehicles and tools, and work outdoors year-round. The role includes a 3-person rota with 1 in 4/5 weekend standby shifts.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence (category B) and demonstrate health and safety awareness. Benefits include generous holiday allowance, flexible working where possible, and access to pension schemes and wellbeing

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence (category B).
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work as part of a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements related to the role.

Responsibilities

• Support the interment process, including excavation, burial and back-filling of plots.
• Drive and operate a range of vehicles, small plant, machinery and hand tools.
• Work outdoors year-round and be prepared for a 3-person weekend rota (1 in 4/5 weekends).
