Job summary

Brett Group operates a cementitious products terminal at Sheerness in Kent and is seeking experienced Terminal Operators to run vessel unloading and loading operations. You will handle ship unloading, load silos, manage tanker loading, and maintain safety and quality across all equipment and processes.

The role involves a 9-hour shift pattern on days and nights with weekend rotation, on-site parking, and opportunities for career development within a growing nationwide materials group.

Qualifications

• Experience operating equipment and resolving operational issues.
• Relevant technical certifications or vocational training in equipment operation and maintenance preferred.
• Prior experience in marine or vessel unloading environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Unloading import cement ships safely and promptly.
• Operate shovel loaders to load silos or hopper from terminal stores.
• Manage tanker loading and weighbridge duties for products.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of all on-site equipment.
• Maintain product quality during loading and loading operations.
• Operate fixed plant, MEWP, and dock-side unloading/loading equipment.
• Control flat stores extraction systems (air and product).
• Assist with onsite maintenance and daily plant checks.
• Keep terminal clean and compliant with H&S directives.
