Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Consultant to support CDM and broader construction safety services across a diverse project portfolio in the UK. You will operate within design and delivery teams, providing pragmatic advice and embedding risk management throughout RIBA Stages 2–5.

The role offers hybrid working with opportunities to lead CDM/PD duties and progress towards Principal Consultant, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in construction, engineering, health & safety or related field.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate preferred.
• Membership of IOSH, APS or IIRSM is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CDM / construction safety inputs and Principal Designer duties.
• Contribute to design risk management, hazard identification and risk reduction.
• Attend design team meetings, risk workshops and project reviews.
• Review design information to identify and challenge health and safety risks.
• Prepare and maintain key CDM documentation (PCI, Design Risk Registers, Hazard Logs, HSF).
• Provide practical CDM compliance advice to clients and project teams.
• Support Building Safety Act Principal Designer duties as required.
• Manage own tasks to time, cost and quality, and collaborate across disciplines.
