Job summary

Arup is seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer (CDM PD) to join our UK Mid-West Energy and Water Resources Group, based in one of our offices in Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham or Nottingham. The role focuses on design safety, leading on risk management and CDM compliance throughout design and construction phases.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, run risk workshops, prepare PCI packs and advise clients on CDM 2015 requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading health and safety in pre-construction and construction phases.
• Strong design safety expertise with infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design risk and hazard workshops.
• Apply the General Principles of Prevention to identify and reduce design risks.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safety is embedded throughout projects.
• Manage high-risk interfaces and complex infrastructure risks.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on CDM Regulations 2015 requirements.
• Prepare and manage Pre-Construction Information (PCI) packs.
• Coordinate communication between clients, designers, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Undertake design and site safety audits, identify improvements and share lessons learned.
