Job description

CDD Automation Solutions is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to develop electrical designs for industrial automation and control systems. You will contribute to projects from concept and detailed design through to installation, testing and commissioning, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and clients.,

• Produce electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and panel layouts for automation and control systems.
• Develop electrical design documentation in line with project specifications, applicable standards and company procedures.
• Support the selection and specification of electrical components, instrumentation, control panels and field devices.
• Collaborate with software, controls, project management and installation teams to ensure designs are coordinated and practical to deliver.
• Review client requirements and technical information, identifying design constraints, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Support design reviews, risk assessments and the resolution of technical queries throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with panel build, factory acceptance testing, site installation and commissioning activities as required.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical standards, health and safety requirements and project quality processes.
  Experience in electrical design within industrial automation, control systems, systems integration or a related engineering environment.
• Knowledge of electrical design principles, control panel design, industrial instrumentation and low-voltage systems.
• Experience using electrical CAD software to produce schematics and design documentation.
• Understanding of relevant UK electrical standards and safe working practices.
• Able to interpret technical specifications, electrical drawings and project documentation.
• Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage design tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with clients and engineering teams.
• HNC, HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience using EPLAN
• Desirable: Experience in regulated or process industries, familiarity with PLC and SCADA systems, and knowledge of panel manufacturing, FAT, installation or commissioning activities.
