Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust in Burton upon Trent is seeking a Dispensary Controlled Drugs Co-ordinator to join the Senior Pharmacy Assistant Team. You will support safe, compliant dispensing and help manage CD processes.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication with healthcare colleagues and the public, and the ability to work under pressure in a busy hospital pharmacy environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent.
• GPhC Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services or currently working towards it.
• Experience in a customer facing role, ideally in NHS.
• Experience with automated/electronic systems in pharmacy.
• Knowledge of Controlled Drug processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily CD dispensing processes in the CD room to ensure a safe, efficient dispensing service.
• Label and dispense inpatient and outpatient prescriptions and discharge medication.
• Greet customers at reception, accept outpatient prescriptions and handle prescription charges.
• Complete ward top ups and expiry dating.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations at all times.
