Job summary

ABM is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect employees, visitors and property at site in the West Bromwich area. The role includes controlling access, patrolling, CCTV monitoring, incident reporting and emergencies response.

The candidate must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence with prior security experience, be able to work rotating days, nights and weekends, and demonstrate strong observation and communication skills. Training and support provided.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (or equivalent) is required.
• Previous experience in a security role is essential.
• Experience monitoring CCTV systems is preferred.
• Good communication and customer service skills are important.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle incidents professionally.
• Strong observation, attention to detail and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working days, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Basic IT and report-writing skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence across the site.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols.
• Monitor and control access and egress points; verify visitor/contractor IDs.
• Prevent unauthorised access, theft, or damage; respond to incidents.
• Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicions or incidents.
• Conduct health and safety inspections and report hazards.
• Assist with evacuations and fire alarm activations.
• Complete daily occurrence books, incident reports and handover notes.
• Record movements of visitors, contractors and vehicles and communicate with management.
