Job summary

ABM UK is seeking a CCTV Operator / Security Guard to guard and monitor a site in Oxford. The role involves access control, CCTV monitoring, patrols, incident reporting and responding to emergencies.

The ideal candidate will have a valid SIA licence, CCTV experience, and strong communication skills. The shift pattern is 4 on, 4 off, with 07:00–19:00 hours and a £15 per hour rate. Flexibility for days, nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• SIA licence is required for the role.
• Previous security experience is essential.
• Experience monitoring CCTV systems is preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and stay vigilant.
• Strong observation and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic IT and report-writing skills required.
• Flexible with days, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide security presence and access control across the site.
• Monitor CCTV and report suspicious activity or incidents.
• Conduct site patrols to deter loss and ensure safety.
• Record incidents in written reports and handover notes.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies in a prompt and effective manner.
• Communicate clearly with management and security colleagues.
