Job summary

OCU Group is seeking a reliable CCTV Security Engineer to join our Group Services team. This field-based role travels across the UK to install, maintain and support CCTV, access control, and structured cabling systems, ensuring security infrastructure remains secure and compliant.

The successful candidate will work on installation, testing, fault-finding, and site liaison, with a valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills required.
• Comfortable working at height and using access equipment (MEWPs).
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills needed.
• Flexible travel and working hours are essential.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and commission CCTV, access control and audio systems.
• Install and terminate Cat5e, Cat6 and other structured cabling.
• Diagnose faults, carry out maintenance and system upgrades.
• Perform regular health checks, firmware updates and reporting.
• Create installation records and documentation.
• Support site mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
• Liaise with site managers, customers and contractors to deliver projects.
• Manage supplier purchase orders and run weekly system reports.
• Travel nationwide to support installations and maintenance projects.

Description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated CCTV Security Engineer to join our growing team. This field-based role involves travelling to sites across the UK to install, maintain and support CCTV, access control and structured cabling systems, helping to ensure our security infrastructure remains secure, compliant and operating effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test and commission CCTV, audio and access control systems.
• Install and terminate Cat5e, Cat6 and other structured cabling.
• Diagnose faults, carry out maintenance and perform system upgrades.
• Complete regular system health checks, firmware updates and reporting.
• Produce accurate installation records and documentation.
• Support site mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
• Liaise with site managers, customers and contractors to deliver projects successfully.
• Manage supplier purchase orders and run weekly system reports.
• Travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays, to support installations and maintenance projects.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Practical, dependable and confident using hand and power tools.
• Experience in CCTV, access control, networking, telecoms, electrical installations or structured cabling is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Comfortable working at height and using access equipment, including MEWPs.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional communicator with excellent organisational skills.
• Flexible regarding travel and working hours.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are essential.
