Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a CCTV Drainage Assistant to support Drainage Engineers across our nationwide depot network. Based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, you will help inspect, survey and assess drainage and sewer systems using specialist CCTV equipment, identifying blockages, defects and other issues so planning for repairs can begin.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Salary is £14 - £15 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license is required.
• Desirable: Banksman, Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid, NRSWA, EUSR National Water Hygiene, Medium risk confined space.

Responsibilities

• Maintain great customer service and communication
• Adhere to company absence reporting procedure
• Updating and completing site documentation using electronic tablet
• Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and safe system of work
• Report any issues or hazards by following company procedures
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
• Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently to assist with various tasks
• Maintain equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition
• Wearing and maintaining in good condition any Personal Protective Equipment

Drainage/Depot Network

consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.

This extensive footprint allows Lanes to combine local responsiveness with national capability, ensuring consistent service standards while maintaining close relationships with regional customers and infrastructure partners.

Purpose of the role

To support CCTV Drainage Engineers in inspecting, surveying, and assessing drainage and sewer systems using specialist CCTV camera equipment. The role helps identify blockages, defects, cracks, collapses, and other drainage issues so that appropriate repairs can be planned and carried out.
