Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a CCTV Drainage Operative to inspect drainage systems using CCTV equipment. You will work mainly from a survey van, recording and reporting findings with digital systems for clients, while maintaining high health and safety standards.

Location is Edinburgh with a 40-hour week and a salary of £16.00 per hour. A full UK driving licence and ability to work in a two-person team are essential requirements for this field-based role.

Department:
Drainage/Depot Network consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.

Purpose of the Role

As a CCTV Drainage Operative, you will inspect and assess drainage systems using specialist CCTV equipment to identify defects, blockages, and other issues within pipework. Working mainly from a fully equipped survey van, you will record and report findings accurately using digital systems, ensuring clients receive detailed survey information. The role requires a strong focus on health and safety, professionalism when interacting with customers and the public, and flexibility to support operational requirements.

Key Requirements

Skills & Experience

• Full UK driving licence, with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person team, supporting colleagues to deliver work safely and efficiently.
• Competent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel and digital reporting systems.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when recording survey findings and completing documentation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate reports and maintain clear digital records.
• Confident using tablets, computers, and other technology to capture survey data and complete documentation.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures and a commitment to following safe working practices at all times.

Desirable

• OX19 Preferrable
• Previous experience in CCTV drainage surveying, utilities, construction, drainage, or a similar field-based role.
• CSCS Card Preferrable
