Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a driven engineer to design, develop and deliver drainage and wastewater infrastructure solutions across the UK. You will be involved in planning, investigations and producing CAD drawings while coordinating with clients and authorities.

The role includes managing projects from planning to completion, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and supporting maintenance and improvements.

Qualifications

• Full Driving Licence required, with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Desirable: NRSWA Streetworks and experience in drainage.
• Desirable: machine ticket for excavator 10t+, confined space level 2+, CSCS, First Aid at Work.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop drainage, sewerage and wastewater infrastructure solutions.
• Carry out site investigations, surveys, and feasibility studies.
• Produce technical drawings and engineering documentation using CAD software.
• Manage projects from planning through to construction and completion.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, contractors and operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and industry regulations.
• Support asset maintenance and drainage improvements.

Department:

Drainage/Depot Network

consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.

This extensive footprint allows Lanes to combine local responsiveness with national capability, ensuring consistent service standards while maintaining close relationships with regional customers and infrastructure partners

Purpose of the Role:

To design, develop, and deliver drainage and wastewater infrastructure solutions, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering standards, environmental regulations, and client requirements while supporting the maintenance and improvement of critical drainage networks. Your schedule will vary to include all types of clients and worksites, from commercial and residential to industrial, rail, road and utility, right across the region.

About the Role:

• Salary: Starting £14.50 per hour depending on experience
• Location: Glasgow
• Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

• 21 Days holiday plus Bank Holidays
