Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a CCTV Drainage Support Operative based in Glasgow to assist Drainage Engineers in inspecting and surveying drainage systems using CCTV equipment. The role focuses on identifying blockages, defects, and other issues to enable planned repairs.

You will follow safe working practices, maintain site records on a tablet, and ensure customer service remains high while maintaining compliance with company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving license is required.
  • Banksman, Manual Handling, Emergency First Aid, NRSWA, EUSR National Water Hygiene, and Medium risk confined space are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain great customer service and communication.
  • Adhere to company absence reporting procedure.
  • Update and complete site documentation using electronic tablet.
  • Ensure all works follow approved method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Report issues or hazards per company procedures.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate machinery and tools safely to assist with tasks.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition.
  • Wear and maintain Personal Protective Equipment.

Department

Drainage/Depot Network consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.

This extensive footprint allows Lanes to combine local responsiveness with national capability, ensuring consistent service standards while maintaining close relationships with regional customers and infrastructure partners.

Purpose of the role

To support CCTV Drainage Engineers in inspecting, surveying, and assessing drainage and sewer systems using specialist CCTV camera equipment. The role helps identify blockages, defects, cracks, collapses, and other drainage issues so that appropriate repairs can be planned and carried out.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain great customer service and communication
  • Adhere to company absence reporting procedure
  • Updating and completing site documentation using electronic tablet
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and safe system of work.
  • Report any issues or hazards by following company procedures
  • Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate machinery and tools safely and efficiently to assist with various tasks
  • Maintain equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Wearing and maintaining in good condition any Personal Protective Equipment.

About the Role
  • Location: Glasgow
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
  • Salary: Starting £13.00 per hour DOE
  • 21 days holiday + bank holidays
