Job Description:
The CBRNE Digital and Integration Product Manager will drive the next generation of integrated sensing and situational awareness solutions. This role is central to our Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Narcotics, and Explosives (CBRNE) portfolio, shaping future threat detection and digital connectivity.
What you’ll do:
- Develop strategies to enable Smiths Detection to succeed in the CBRNE Digital & Innovation market.
- Provide technical advice within the Strategy and Marketing team and Digital team.
- Collaborate with CBRNE PID teams to develop the product roadmap.
- Contribute to external R&D funding and bid development.
- Identify strategic partnerships with technology partners, suppliers, testers, and early adopters.
- Create strategies for localization of technology where needed.
- Build relationships with customers to understand their needs and gaps.
- Support strategic planning for the CBRNE business.
- Engage with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and regulators.
- Monitor the product portfolio and report on critical business changes.
- Ensure compliance with export control and security regulations.
- Develop commercial models and identify target customers and sales channels.
- Manage Market Requirements Documents (MRD) and Product Requirements Documents (PRD).
- Understand cybersecurity requirements for integrated sensors and software.
- Conduct Voice of Customer exercises to gather requirements.
- Create marketing messaging and content.
- Perform competitor and market analysis.
- Ensure effective go-to-market strategies for new products and features.
- Maintain a list of new business opportunities and CRM data.
- Develop sales channels and organizational messaging.
- Adhere to company policies and provide subject matter expertise.
- Travel 5-25% globally as required.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Science/Chemistry or equivalent experience.
- Background in IoT sensors, explosives, chemical detection, or military systems.
- Experience in product/business development in defence, aerospace, or CBRNE.
- Understanding of networked sensors, cybersecurity, and situational awareness.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- British Citizen with ability to obtain SC Level Clearance.
