Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the CB2 area of Cambridge. The role involves 1:1 SEND support and general TA duties, supporting pupils with diverse needs and helping create an inclusive learning environment.

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the CB2 area of Cambridge. This position will involve a combination of:

• Providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Supporting pupils with learning, communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Implementing strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
• Adapting resources and learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and enrichment activities where required.

• Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Supporting small group and whole-class learning activities.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Assisting with displays, resources, and general classroom administration.
• Supporting assessment activities and pupil progress tracking.
• Supervising pupils during activities, educational visits, and school events when required.

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

• Have a minimum of 1 year's experience working in UK schools.
• Hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification and/or demonstrate significant relevant school-based experience.
• Have a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Be able to provide references covering recent educational or childcare employment.
• Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply and pay for one through Teaching Personnel.
