Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Teaching Assistants for primary schools in the UK, offering day-to-day supply, long-term placements and potential permanent roles.

You will support pupils inside and outside the classroom, helping to create an engaging, inclusive learning environment. DBS checks and relevant TA qualifications are preferred, with travel to local schools beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting.
• Positive, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities.
• Support pupils with literacy, numeracy and classroom tasks.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback as required.
• Build positive relationships with children, staff and families.
• Provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEND where needed.

• Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities
• Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy and classroom tasks
• Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback where required
• Building positive relationships with children, staff and families
• Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with SEND where needed, adapting learning to suit individual needs

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
• A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to adapt to different classroom environments
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• The ability to travel to local schools is beneficial, though not essential
