Job summary

Leeds City College is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to join the catering team at Leeds Conservatoire Campus. You will support the Catering Manager to ensure high standards of customer service, food quality, health and safety, and smooth daily operations.

Some evenings and weekend work are required. Actual salary for 32.5 hours per week starts from £23,009 with progression to £23,588 per annum, with benefits and hybrid working opportunities.

Qualifications

• Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Experience in catering and hospitality, with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• Able to organise and support colleagues, communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.
• Friendly and professional approach to customer service, with experience using tills, handling payments and promoting products.
• Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to use initiative, solve problems and maintain high standards when working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a consistently excellent customer service across retail catering, hospitality and licensed bar operations, ensuring customer needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
• Assist the Catering Manager in delivering a smooth and efficient catering services day to day, events and performances, taking responsibility as the lead on shift when required.
• Supervise, guide and support catering staff, allocating duties, monitoring performance and contributing to induction, training and development.
• Maintain operational standards including food safety, allergen compliance, hygiene, health and safety, stock control, EPOS, cash handling and accurate record keeping.
• Support hospitality events and service improvement initiatives, maintaining attractive retail displays, product availability and positive relationships with students, staff, visitors and external clients while upholding Group policies.
