Job summary

Leeds City College is recruiting a Food Service Assistant for the Printworks Campus to join our catering team. The role is 32.5 hours per week over 37 weeks per year, with two evening shifts on Tue & Thu until 7pm.

Salary is £19,731 per annum (pro-rated for 37 weeks) and the hourly rate is £13.45. You will assist with food preparation, serve meals, maintain high hygiene standards, operate an EPOS till, and ensure a welcoming, efficient service for students, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Hold a level 2 food hygiene certificate or be willing to work toward getting it
• Knowledge of catering and hospitality practices, including food hygiene procedures and maintaining accurate records.
• Experience working in a busy customer-focused environment, including operating tills and handling cash and card transactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef Manager in food preparation.
• Stock & clean food display
• Use of an EPOS till.
• Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the café and cooking areas, including washing up and cleaning of equipment.
• Ensure food safety requirements are adhered to at all times and all due diligence records are completed accurately.
• Be prepared to work within any of the Colleges outlets.
• Responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
