Compass Group UK in Cambridge is seeking a proactive Catering Manager to lead a busy workplace café and hospitality service. You will oversee breakfast, lunch and events for around 130 covers daily, manage bookings, budgets and a small team, and drive service quality and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have hospitality management experience, strong leadership, and the ability to balance operations with administration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Catering Manager, General Manager, or Hospitality Manager in workplace catering, hospitality, or café environments.
• Strong leadership with experience managing and motivating small teams.
• Experience managing hospitality bookings, client relationships, and event catering.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Experience budgeting, ordering, stock control and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of a busy café and hospitality service, ensuring high standards of food and customer service.
• Oversee breakfast, lunch and hospitality catering for around 130 covers per day.
• Manage hospitality bookings and coordinate meetings, events and catering requests.
• Provide hands-on leadership to a team of 3 employees, supporting development and performance.
• Build strong relationships with clients and guests, delivering exceptional customer experience.
• Manage rotas, stock control, ordering, budgets and all related admin.
• Ensure food safety, health & safety and company compliance standards are maintained.
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve service, efficiency and profitability.
• Work with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth operation.
