Job summary

Cygnet Newton House Ltd in Blackpool seeks an outstanding Catering Manager who is passionate about food and care. You will lead kitchen operations, plan menus, manage stock and budgets, and ensure high standards of hygiene and service for residents.

You’ll work 48 hours per week, liaise with clinical staff to meet nutritional needs, and drive a positive dining experience while complying with COSHH and health and safety regulations. DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• Advanced food hygiene certificate.
• Experience in care sector preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience with budget planning and menu design.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients’ nutritional & dietary needs
• Order food supplies, plan & review menus
• Prepare, cook & serve food of the highest standard
• Organise work rotas, manage budgets & kitchen staff
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards & food hygiene regulations
• Ensure record keeping is accurate & complies with regulations & Cygnet procedures
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

We are looking for an outstanding Catering Manager who’s passionate about food and wants to make a difference. You'll be working 48 hours per week, creating an excellent culinary experience for the people in our care at Cygnet Newton House. Cygnet Newton House offers both a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service and community rehabilitation (level 1) service for men. The service is dedicated to providing a high quality environment for promoting long‑term recovery. From admission, the team work with the men we support to maximise positive outcomes and recovery, while focusing on discharge plans to support them to move on to the least restrictive environment for them. Our dedicated clinical team provide a multi‑disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training. Located 1 mile from Blackpool centre, Cygnet Newton House benefits from being close to plenty of amenities. There are good public transport links in the area with regular buses to the beach.

Your Day-to-Day…

You are…

• A skilled chef, preferably with experience within the care sector
• A strong leader with a track record of managing a team
• Experienced in stock ordering, budget management & menu planning
• The holder of an advanced food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
• Polite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external requests at all times
• An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
• Dedicated and driven to deliver the best possible service.
