Job summary

Bolton Talent Solutions & Bolton College are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and industry-experienced Catering Lecturer to join us on a temporary basis.

You will deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning across Catering, Hospitality, and Patisserie programmes, supporting learners to develop practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours that prepare them for employment or further study.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Catering, Professional Cookery, Patisserie, Hospitality, Bakery, or a related discipline.
• Level 3 Advanced Food Hygiene qualification.
• A minimum Level 3 teaching qualification.
• Industry experience within Catering, Hospitality, Patisserie, Bakery, or Professional Cookery environments.
• Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching across Catering, Hospitality, and Patisserie programmes at levels 1 to 3.
• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
• Support learners to develop industry-standard skills and professional behaviours.
• Demonstrate current industry practices and high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service.
• Track learner progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, food hygiene, and safeguarding requirements.

Location: Bolton College
Term: Temporary (anticipated through to July 2027)
Hours: Full time & part-time options
Pay Rate: 28.75 to 32.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: October 2026

About the Role

You will deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning across Catering, Hospitality, and Patisserie programmes, supporting learners to develop practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours that prepare them for employment or further study. This role combines practical and theory-based delivery, helping learners develop expertise in professional cookery, pastry, bakery, confectionery, and food service operations.
