Job summary

Holroyd Howe in Hull is seeking a Food Service Assistant/General Assistant/Catering Assistant to join our education catering team. This role covers breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner service at one of our prestigious settings, with term-time hours and a 25-hour week schedule.

You will work 9:30–14:30, 6 days a week on a rota basis (Day 6 once a month). The role includes training opportunities, pension and life insurance, and access to employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
