Job summary

BaxterStorey UK, in partnership with Perkins Engines, is seeking a Catering Assistant to support food service at our Stafford site. You will help with food preparation, presentation and counter service, ensuring portion control and compliance with hygiene standards.

Responsibilities include assisting with basic food prep, serving customers, maintaining cleanliness, and following HACCP procedures. You will work in a team, learn on-the-job, and contribute to a welcoming dining environment for

Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions.
• Basic food hygiene knowledge (training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Food Service: Assist with preparation, portioning and presentation of food items; serve customers politely and maintain standards.
• Customer Experience: Respond to queries promptly and keep a clean and welcoming service environment.
• Operational Support: Assist with basic food preparation under supervision and support break times, events and ad-hoc service requirements.
• Cleaning & Hygiene: Daily cleaning tasks, wash up equipment, maintain high personal hygiene and uniform standards.
• Health, Safety & Compliance: Follow HACCP and hygiene procedures; report hazards and incidents; comply with policies.
