Colyton Primary School in Colyton, Devon, is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant to support all catering functions during term-time. The role is 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday 11:30am–1:30pm, with pay quoted as £26,438.07 pro rata (£12.71 per hour).

The successful candidate will learn within a national company, receive full training, and contribute to a friendly school kitchen team while maintaining high food hygiene and customer service standards.

Catering Assistant required at Colyton Primary School

South West Norse is established in delivering catering, cleaning, and facilities management services to a portfolio of clients in the local region in partnership with Devon County Council, combining local knowledge with service delivery expertise.

As we recognise the importance of building a strong kitchen team to be a key ingredient to our catering success, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant join our team at Colyton Primary School on a part-time, Temporary basis working Term-time only.

The Role:

You will be supporting all aspects of the catering service including ensuring completion of the preparation, cooking, presentation and service of our nutritious food and beverage outlets to students and staff while complying with food hygiene, Health and Safety and QA procedures.

This customer facing role will provide you with great exposure to all aspects of the catering environment with lots of opportunities to learn and develop your skills within the industry.

As well as:

• Setting up the hall before service
• Serving lunches to customers
• Clearing tables and cleaning the dining area after service
• Assisting with general catering duties as required
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and customer service
