Job summary

Miquill, a Midlands-based school catering specialist, is looking for a friendly Catering Assistant to join its kitchen team. You will serve students and staff, help prepare meals, and maintain a clean, safe environment using fresh ingredients.

This role offers 20 hours per week, term-time weeks (38 per year), with training provided, and opportunities to grow through our L&D program. Good customer service and basic Health & Safety knowledge are desirable.

Job Introduction

As a Catering Assistant, you are the friendly face and backbone of our kitchen team! You'll provide fantastic customer service while assisting in the preparation of delicious, nutritious meals of the highest quality, using our fresh ingredients.

Main Responsibilities

Working as part of a dynamic team to create a fun and unique dining experience for students and staff

Assisting with preparing and serving our delicious meals.

Operating Tills (full training provided)

Ensuring a sparkling clean kitchen environment at all times

Strictly adhering to all safety guidelines, including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policy

The Ideal Candidate

Exceptional Customer Service skills—you love interacting with people!

Previous catering experience is a bonus, but training is provided for the right person!

Basic knowledge of Health and Safety practices.

Food Hygiene Level 2 is preferred, but not essential, as full training will be provided!
