Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to support Tabley House Nursing Home in Cheshire. You will work 24 hours a week from 8:30am to 4pm, including weekends and one weekday. The role focuses on preparing and serving appetising meals and maintaining high kitchen hygiene standards within a welcoming care environment.

Successful candidates will contribute to a warm, supportive atmosphere and ensure meals meet residents’ needs. DBS checks may be required as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, preferably within a care setting.
• Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member.
• Polite and professional with a positive attitude at all times.
• Excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
• Able to work on your own initiative and under supervision.
• Diligent and able to maintain high cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils and dishes and store them appropriately.
• Sort, store and distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering.
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic.
• Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment per procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

We are looking for an outstanding Catering Assistantwho’s passionate about food and wants to make a difference.

You’ll be working24 hours a week, working from 8.30am to 4pm at Tabley House Nursing Home, creating an excellent experience for the people.

The rota includes weekend working plus 1 day during the week.

Tabley House Nursing Home is located in the beautiful Cheshire countryside in acres of parklands. The service is set within a stunning 18th century country house.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Assist the team in the providing balanced, appetising meals
