Job summary

Totnes St John's Church of England Primary School is seeking a Catering Assistant to join Ace Catering's team providing fresh, local and healthy meals for pupils. The role focuses on preparation, cooking, serving, cleaning and maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment.

We welcome enthusiastic individuals with catering experience who work well in a team, show a can-do attitude and can promote a welcoming atmosphere for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with food previously is essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Friendly, polite and punctual with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and simple cooking.
• Serving meals with correct portion control.
• Serving customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Cleaning kitchen, its surrounds and equipment.
• General kitchen duties such as washing up.
• Using equipment as directed by Kitchen Manager.
• Preparation of dining area.
• Ensure food hygiene and health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
• Adhere to existing and new working practices and respond positively to changes.

We are ideally seeking individuals that have previous experience within the catering sector and welcomeenthusiastic individuals who are looking to develop within the catering industry. Ace Catering prides itselfon freshly prepared, local and seasonal produce and providing nutritious and tasty meals for its pupils.As a Catering Assistant, the responsibilities are shared within the team and include preparation, cooking,storing, cleaning duties, delivery and presentation in order to support the catering operation and maintainthe efficient running of the kitchen. The role includes maintaining high standards and ensuring a clean,hygienic and organised environment.

Duties:

• Basic preparationof food and simple cooking
