Job summary

Orchard Grove Primary School is seeking a Catering Assistant to support day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality meals for students and staff. You will assist with menu planning, food preparation and cooking, and work with the wider team to keep catering services running smoothly, including stock control and budgeting within set limits.

A Level 2 Food Safety award and experience catering for large numbers are preferred, with a strong commitment to health and safety and allergen

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Level 2 award in Food Safety
• Previous experience within catering for large numbers
• Awareness of Health and Safety, COSHH, dietary and allergen requirements
• Commitment to providing a high-quality and consistent catering service with the ability to work within a busy environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day kitchen activities and ensure quality services are provided
• Assist with school menu planning, food preparation and cooking
• Work with a wider team to ensure catering services are carried out efficiently
• Include stock control and ensure duties are carried out within set budget
• Support continuous improvements in service quality and efficiency

We currently have a new opening for Catering Assistant to join Orchard Grove Primary School, helping to co-ordinate day-to-day activities within the kitchen and ensuring quality services are provided to students, You'll be responsible in assisting with school menu planning, food preparation and cooking, and working within a wider team to ensure catering services are carried out efficiently on a daily basis, including stock control and ensuring duties are carried out within a set budget.
