Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant; experience in education is advantageous.
• Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete them, is essential.
• Possession of an Enhanced DBS with child-barring or willingness to obtain one is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support Chef/Catering Manager and kitchen teams.
• Assist with the preparation and service of hot and cold food items.
• Assist with food service for children, liaising with teachers and care workers.
• Operate tills and handle payments where required.
• Clearing down and closing units at the end of shifts.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Following food safety and food allergen legislation at all times.
• Ensuring food service areas remain clean, organised and well stocked.
• Working closely with all school staff to deliver an efficient service.
