Job summary

Berkeley Scott is recruiting a Catering Assistant for temporary roles in Crewe, starting September, working across Impact Food Group in local schools. These term-time roles align with the school day, offering weekly pay and shifts that fit childcare or other commitments.

You will assist with food preparation, service and basic kitchen duties, and gain varied experience across different school settings while joining a friendly Berkeley Scott team that supports you throughout your assignments.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience; education setting desirable but not essential.
• Food Safety and Food Allergen qualification, or willingness to complete one.
• Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List, or willingness to obtain one.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a busy catering environment.
• Positive, reliable and professional attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in delivering excellent service to schools.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team
• Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold food
• Serving meals to children while working closely with teachers and care staff
• Operating tills and handling payments where required
• Cleaning down kitchen and dining areas at the end of service
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Following all food safety and food allergen procedures at all times
• Keeping food service areas clean, organised and fully stocked
• Working alongside school staff to deliver an efficient catering service
